Bio

I was born in New Jersey, USA. I grew up during the 50's and 60's and collected pictures of famous people, and entered coloring contests all the time - hoping to win a pony.

My love for people started at an early age and I was very keen on speaking to everyone I came in contact with.
I was interested in the world around me and was an avid reader.

After college I hitchhiked through Europe with a friend and found myself falling in love in Denmark.
I married and have 3 wonderful children.
After my divorce, I pursued a career in advertising. I could not get a job because of lack of experience; I was asked by one art director to visually show my talents. Hence, my first collage. My CV. My second collage was about his company, which was Grey Advertising. I took each of their clients and gave them a logo.
He started taking pictures of the collages so, I knew I was on to something.
So, every-time I had a job interview I would show up with a personal, three dimensional collage of the company.
This led me to different exhibitions and a studio in the middle of Copenhagen.
I have been seen in Tivoli gardens. My Rebild poster was sold at the famous Danish art museum, Louisiana.

I ran the Copenhagen Marathon and was commissioned to make a collage depicting the history of the Marathon.
I have had the privilege of meeting the Crown Prince of Denmark and the Crown Princess and presenting them with a personal collage as a wedding gift.
I have done collages for two American Ambassadors to Denmark.

I think the former American Ambassador to Denmark, Stuart Bernstein, summed up my art very well when he wrote,

"It is a creative and artistic display of special moments that I will now be able to look back on, and a smile will come across my face. It will remind me of the many memories over the last 3-1/2 years here in Denmark."

My longing and desire in my heart is to make people happy and touch their hearts through my art.

With all my heart,
Vicki Lang
